Yuvraj Singh to play for Toronto Nationals in Global T20 tournament

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is set to begin another journey of his cricketing on July 25 when he will be playing for the Toronto Nationals for the Global T20 tournament.

In a video message, Yuvraj Singh assured to his fans on Twitter to perform his best to support cricket in Canada.

The inimitable all-rounder added, “I am really looking forward to visiting Canada and play in season 2 of the Global T20 tournament. I was impressed with the action last year and I am looking forward to playing with the local Canadians and the international stars. I will do my very best to support cricket in Canada. So, Toronto here I come.”

Earlier his playing for the Toronto Nationals was in doubt as BCCI had barred active players to contribute in overseas T20 leagues.

Following his announcement to retire on June 10 Yuvraj made it clear his wish to become a part of the Canadian team and on June 20 he signed an agreement with the team owner.

In his letter to BCCI Yuvraj stated his wish to play for Toronto Nationals for fun.

The cricketer was an integral part of the Indian team and holds a record of making a fastest half-century in T20I cricket. Playing against England he made 50 in just 12 balls.

In the same match, he slammed Stuart Broad for six 6s. India emerged as the world champions in T20 format then.
