What we do not know is that thousands of people die every year fighting cancer and a hundred thousand are infected by cancer. Isn’t it an exaggeration to say that celebrities, young and old alike, are infected with this deadly disease? There are ways to detect cancer at an early stage with the help of modern technology now available compared to the past. Patients are also able to recover faster. But what is needed to conquer this disease is better medicine and morale is paramount.
There is no doubt that cancer is the leader of all diseases. It injects fear in the veins of the human and when people think they are all cured and it is all going to be okay it attacks from the farthest corner igniting once again diminishing all hopes.
That is why all the nations of the world are determined to come forward and take steps to motivate people to conquer cancer. As part of that, the United Nations came up with a proposal called World Rose Day, and every year World Rose Day is celebrated on September 22.
The History
World Rose Day for Cancer Patients is celebrated in honor of Canadian girl Melinda Rose. She was diagnosed with rare blood cancer (Askins’ tumor) when she was just 12 years old. Doctors said she could only live for a few weeks. But she was able to live for six years with her unwavering courage. Not only that, but she also encouraged people suffering from cancer with her poems, informative words, and messages. It not only instilled in them the mental strength and courage to fight this deadly disease but also showed them how to be happy until death.
Every year, World Rose Day is celebrated in her name to commemorate her heartfelt condolences to those who were battling a life-threatening illness at such a young age. The day is celebrated every year with a brand-new theme to inspire her in cancer patients.
This year’s theme is: “I Am And I Will.”
Here are some quotes by the people whose attitude towards cancer sheds a light in a positive path

– Joel Siegel
If you do not like something change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude towards it.

Cricket is Nazi life. I used to be happy before cancer. Anxiety and fear started in me whenever the disease became severe. When I saw those who were suffering from me, I began to not only resist it in any way but also to do my part to help those who were suffering like me. I am happy to have my life back to me again.
– Yuvraj Singh
“Remember: you’re not dying from cancer . . . You’re living with it.” – Unknown
