At least three people have been injured after a woman opened fired at the headquarters of Google’s YouTube and finally killing herself too on Tuesday.
The suspect has been identified as Nasim Aghdam and believed her motive for shooting in San Bruno near Silicon Valley was a domestic related-dispute and not anything close to terrorism.
According to San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini the 38-year-old had shot herself with the same 9 mm handgun.
One of the injured is in a critical condition. He is 36-year-old man. The other two are two women of age 32 and 27. Both are now in fair condition.
YouTube is a video-sharing service owned by Alphabet Inc’s Google and is about 30 miles away from the main Google campus in Mountain View. The office houses 1,700 employees.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said, “There are no words to describe the tragedy that occurred today. Susan Wojcicki and I are focused on supporting our employees and the YouTube community through this difficult time together.”
Authorities said the shooter lived in the San Diego and she had earlier claimed the platform has filtered and discriminated her content.
Investigation is in process before the police put pieces together to the media.
US President Donald Trump tweeted, “Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody involved.”
