Have you ever wondered why developing countries like India, Sri Lanka? Poor countries like Uganda are different. And what it takes to live like American’s in your own country with a sophisticated lifestyle. Well, it takes a lot of earth’s resources and if every country starts living like America the world would need sources of 5 planets, yes, 5 planets because one wouldn’t be enough.
If the world starts consuming fuel, food, water, and other resources like America it would need five planets to cover up for it not just one planet’s resources are enough.
The Global Footprint Network, an NGO, conducted an extensive survey and released the report. And if the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Luxembourg, and some Gulf countries were to follow their lifestyles around the world, eight or nine planets would be required to fulfill their needs.
The survey found that consumption of natural resources was highest in most countries in the Americas and Europe, while low in Asia and Africa. It is clear that the average global consumption is declining due to the large area and population of these countries.
According to the report if the world starts taking lead and follows this lifestyle it would deplete 70% of resources in less than months. Living nothing for the upcoming days and would push the planet into deeper problems.
