Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in T20 cricket. He has surpassed Suresh Raina during his innings of 67 on Saturday in RCB’s run chase against KXIP in Mohali.
Suresh Raina is credited with 8145 runs in the shortest format of cricket playing in 309 matches and 293 innings.
Suresh and Virat are the only two players to have scored more than 5000 runs in IPL.
Suresh has scored 5121 runs from 183 matches including 1 hundred and 35 fifties in the IPL while Virat has made 5218 runs from 170 matches including 4 hundreds and 35 fifties.
Virat played one of his best shortest format cricket in 2016 when he scored 973 runs from 16 matches in IPL and helped RCB to reach the final.
He played poor in 2017s IPL scoring just 308 runs from ten matches. In last season he made 530 runs from 14 matches.
Playing for India Virat has made 2263 runs in 67 T20 Internationals with twenty 50s and no hundreds.
Suresh has played the T20 cricket for Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Lions, India, Indians, Uttar Pradesh while Virat has played the format for Delhi, India, Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Virat is also the fastest to score 10,000 ODI runs and has made 41 ODI hundreds. He is expected to break Sachin Tendulkar’s records.
Virat has scored 6613 runs in test crickets including 25 hundreds from 77 matches.
