Following the completion of two years of Donald Trump as president a media report reveals he has made more than 8,000 misleading or false claims since taking office.

The Washington Post reported Trump’s such claims averaged about 5.9 a day in the first year of his office while the pace tripled in second year with nearly 16.5 misleading or false claims a day.

The report of Washington Post is based on The Fact Checker’s database and adds there has been a total of 8,158 misleading or false claims by the president since taking office.

According to the Fact Checker’s database Trump made a total of 492 such claims in his first 100 days of office and in October 2018 alone, during the mid-term elections, he made at least 1200 unsupported claims.

The report adds biggest source of such unsupported claims was immigration. in past three weeks he made 300 immigration claims.

Washington Post writes, “We started this project as part of our coverage of the president’s first 100 days, largely because we could not possibly keep up with the pace and volume of the president’s misstatements.”

The second most false and misleading claims were on foreign policy. It was following by topics on trade and economy. The fourth in rank was unsupported claims about jobs.

In his two years of office there were just 82 such days when no false or misleading claims were made, writes the newspaper.
