According to industry sources, this has boosted the confidence of tourists, and demand for domestic and foreign tourist destinations has jumped.
Compared to last summer, the prices of travel and hotels available this time are attracting more tourists.
Overall, experts say this summer is a great time for the domestic travel and tourism industry.
Generally, 2 to 3 crore Indians travel abroad every year. All of them have been confined to their homes for the past year in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak and travel restrictions.

OTA and hotel managers are optimistic that the search will definitely turn into bookings. The hotel industry says there will be better bookings than the December quarter of the 2019 fiscal year.
Vibhas Prasad, Director, Leisure Hotels Group, said that hotels and travel companies located in leisure locations, such as the Dehradun-based Leisure Hotels Group, would benefit the most.
He said 90 percent of the properties owned by leisure hotels are in tourist and leisure areas. He said the occupancy of the respective properties would reach 85-95 percent in June this year as compared to the 2019 financial year.
Demand for this specialty has grown significantly, he said.
Prasad also added that leisure travelers are becoming more passionate about domestic travel instead of overseas. With this, the domestic travel and tourism sector will be revived.
Sarovar Hotels & Resorts MD Ajay Bhakaya said travel and tourism occupancy prices would be lower this summer compared to the summer of 2019, which would increase occupancy by 80-90 percent.
Rajiv Subramanian, vice-president, Cleartrip.com, said bookings would increase this summer compared to last winter. He said the demand would continue until there were no travel restrictions. Advance bookings for Leisure Travels have increased in the wake of Holi and Good Friday on Clear Trip.
Domestic tourist destinations like Goa and Srinagar are among the top destination bookings.
Bookings on both sides from major metro cities in the country rose by 40 percent. Currently, domestic leisure travel has reached 60-65 percent of the pre-Covid-19 level.
