Costa Rica is a country that is located in South America and this country is a very popular tourist destination for travelers all around the world but as one might wonder this country is not that cheap for traveling so if you are planning to visit Costa Rica here are a few tips from my side for traveling here.
Do not pre-book or preplan anything
This may sound exactly the opposite of what you might be expecting but it is very true in the case of Costa Rica. if you book for your tours in advance then there is a fair chance that you might end up paying more if you had not done that. We recommend you to just go there and ask for prices on the spot it will be much cheaper.
Try to get discounts
As mentioned earlier, you do not have to go to a big company to set up your tours, you can go to the local vendors to do so and one more benefit, in this case, is that you can bargain and get discount which is very cost beneficial for you and this really works in Costa Rica.
Avoid any tourist guides
Speaking for my own experience there are a lot of guides that will be approaching you the moment to enter the country but make sure to avoid them as there is no necessity for them and you can enjoy as much or even more without a guide around by just researching on your own.
Ask the locals for tourist destination
If you ask locals about any specific destination that they would want you to visit, the people over there are surprisingly very eager to help you and they’re very generous in that way. you can pay a little amount and they will tell you places that would not even be on the map and you can make your trip really memorable.
Eat at sodas
In Costa Rica there are small food spots for food stalls and these are called Food Sodas. You must avoid going to a fancy restaurant in Costa Rica and try the food that they give in the sodas as they are really cheap and you can get almost everything you want here.
Cook yourself
In Costa Rica this is a tradition that in most of the hotel rooms there is a small kitchen so if you are looking to save a little bit of money and spend on other things that may be more productive well then you can try to cook for yourself and have fun in that way.
Souvenirs
Many touristSlike to keep souvenirs from the places they travel and if you are one of them we recommend you to get a souvenir that is not that much pricey because if you go to an antique shop to get a souvenir it may cost you too much so you can either get some coffee or something else that might not be that expensive.
