Shooting in Chicago house party; 1 dead, 2 arrested

A dispute at a house party of thirteen people in the age group of 16 and 48 years in Chicago turned into chaos and later led to shootings, said chief of the Chicago Police Bureau of Patrol Fred Waller.

Four of them are hospitalized in critical condition. One among them is just 16-year-old.

According to Waller, the party was at the 5700 block of South May Street in Englewood and the dispute broke out around 12:35 a.m. and firing was done in three different locations.

He added that the shots were fired inside the home and as an aftermath partygoers started leaving. It is believed one of the partygoers opened outside too.

Waller said, “Then a vehicle was driving down the street. One of the people also who left the residence fired upon this vehicle… So we had three different scenes, all within a close proximity.”

A neighbor said he was awaken by the loud multiple sound of the shots and looking from his window he saw people screaming and running on the street from the party.

Terrence Daniely added further that the police response was amazing and it was like 100 officers running to the scene.

Two people have been arrested and are being questioned. One of them had a revolver.

The party was a memorial for Lonell Irvin, the person who was slain earlier this year in April.

Area South Detectives are investigating the incidence.

Over the weekend a total of 34 shots were registered across Chicago.
