Shaheen Bagh shooter has AAP connection: Delhi Police

Bharatiya Janata Party and Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party are now in war of words over the shooter of Shaheen Bagh. Delhi Police claims he is a member of AAP party.

Shooter Kapil Baisala joined AAP party in 2019 along with his father, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Rajesh Deo.

His mobile phone has been seized and it is learned police have been able to retrieve WhatsApp data from it.

Delhi Police have also retrieved photos of Kapil with his father joining the AAP.

Following the statement of Delhi Police about having AAP link the BJP lashed out at the party accusing Arvind Kejriwal of playing with India’s security.

BJP president J P Nadda tweeted today, “I want to make clear to Kejriwal that this country is bigger than any election, any government, and the country will not forgive those who play with its security. The people of Delhi will give a befitting reply.”

Meanwhile, AAP party said to be reaching out to the Election Commission against the DCP questioning on the timing and motive of the announcement.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh said as the model code of conduct is in place in the national capital due to upcoming election.

Singh asked whether Union Home Minister Amit Shah has told Deo to say such things.

Addressing to the media he said tomorrow the party will lodge a complaint against Deo to Election Commission.

Earlier Singh had alleged the shooting at Shaheen Bagh was a BJP conspiracy.
