This World Asthma Day, SAVA Healthcare Limited (SHL) has embarked on a significant initiative to raise awareness about asthma prevention and treatment across four nations: Nepal, Kenya, Uzbekistan, and Yemen. Through a unique QR-coded campaign, SAVA Healthcare aims to educate individuals about asthma and empower them with essential knowledge and resources.
The campaign, which kicked off on May 7, will span one week and involves collaboration with over 300 pulmonologists and chest physicians across more than 500 hospitals and clinics in these countries. The key focus is on leveraging QR technology to provide easy access to vital information.
At hospitals and doctors’ clinics participating in this initiative, individuals can scan QR codes to access basic preventive information about asthma. Additionally, a tutorial on using Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) machines will be readily available through these codes, aiding in effective management of asthma.
Aniruddha Rajurkar, CEO of SAVA Healthcare Limited, highlighted the significance of this campaign, acknowledging asthma as a widespread chronic respiratory condition affecting millions globally. By teaming up with medical professionals abroad and utilizing QR technology, SAVA Healthcare aims to extend India’s medical expertise to empower individuals in other nations with the tools they need to combat asthma effectively.
According to the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), asthma is among the most prevalent chronic non-communicable diseases, impacting over 260 million people worldwide and leading to over 450,000 preventable deaths annually. Nepal, in particular, experiences a significant burden, with more than 100 deaths per 100,000 individuals each year.
SAVA Healthcare’s recent expansion into the Nepal market with advanced DPI products underscores its commitment to addressing respiratory health challenges in these regions. These products offer rapid relief for conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), further demonstrating the company’s dedication to improving respiratory care globally.
In summary, SAVA Healthcare’s QR-coded asthma awareness campaign represents a commendable effort to bridge knowledge gaps and empower communities with life-saving information. By leveraging technology and collaboration, this initiative aims to make a meaningful impact in combatting asthma and enhancing respiratory health outcomes across borders.
