Every year, the Career Service at the School of Business, Economics, and Law organizes a session where recruiters share insights and advice on job hunting. This year, representatives from Deloitte, Volvo Cars, Essity, Fortos Management Consulting, and Jerrie participated in the panel.

The session revealed diverse perspectives on the recruitment process, CV essentials, and the evolving trend of anonymizing applications. Many recruiters advocated for a clean, tailored CV free of photos, with some favoring anonymity to tackle unconscious bias.

While grades matter less to some employers, experience in various areas, even part-time roles, can be valuable. Additionally, familiarity with Swedish, though not always mandatory, can boost integration in workplaces where it’s spoken.

When it comes to interviews, preparation is vital. Dress appropriately, whether in-person or for a video interview, and take time to answer questions thoughtfully. Examples of past experiences are crucial, and preparing questions for the employer shows interest.

In today’s job market, on-demand interviews and assessments are becoming common. Practicing online tests can enhance your performance.
