Ram Janmabhoomi trust to face challenge pooling collected donations

Ram Janmabhoomi Babri Masjid-The challenges in the building of Ram Mandir seems to be almost over following verdict of Supreme Court in favor of Hindus against Muslim’s claim that the disputed site to be given for the construction of Babri Masjid.

However, the big task now for the government is to make a trust, as directed by the apex court, and handover management for the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.

For past several years funds poured in from NGOs, akhadas, trusts and samitis for building up of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in the name of Ram Mandir movement and its construction at the Babri Masjid disputed site. The utmost priority for the government now is transfer of the collected money to the main trust.

The mahants and prominent sadhus in Ayodhya believes it is not an easy job for the authorities as there had been no proper record of different groups who have been collecting funds.

The existing trusts meanwhile too are under suspicion of misuse of funds. Nritya Gopal Das heads one of the biggest trusts named Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas and the group is now under question for the same reason.

According to Mahant Satyendra Das, the main priest of Ram Lalla Temple, about eighteen crore of fund was transferred from the trust and nobody has an account of it.

Sources claim there are more than 20 such trusts and NGOs under the administration are alleged to have been collecting the funds from devotees and visitors in Ayodhya. So far no action has been taken against them and their volunteers have spread across India to collect money in the name of Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir movement and construction.

Local tradition believes Babri Masjid was built after demolishing Ram Mandir. Between 1528 and 1530 Babur’s commander Mir Baqi built the Babri Masjid.
