India-Pakistan cricket battle is always considered as of high voltage and a defeat by either side is not acceptable by fans and former players.
Not being able to win against India in Sunday’s World Cup match at Old Trafford the Pakistan cricketers have come under criticism and former Pakistan stumper Kamran Akmal has urged Prime Minister Imran Khan back at home to initiate action against the boys for dismal show.
He criticized Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and requested the PM, former cricketer to initiate an action against the cricket team.
Imran Khan is also Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) patron.
Talking to the media he said, “Pakistan has not won any match in the World Cup, where they opted to chase. The only victory for the greens caps came against the tournament favourites England, when we batted first and posted massive 300 plus runs on the board, while against West Indies, we were badly exposed and flattened at meagre 105. Our batting badly flopped and all the flaws were exposed by the opponents.”
He added to have requested Khan to start ruthless accountability on the players who inflicted damages to the country’s cricket.
Earlier this week PCB announced to be holding a robust review of the players and the support staff too.
In Sunday’s match, Pakistan lost the match by 89 runs under D/L method. The next match is against South Africa at the Lord’s ground on June 23.
