People are all hurdled in the market (do not forget the covid-19 guidelines) buying presents and clothes to prep for the festival and if you are among those who want to try something new this year.
Then, this article is for you, here are two new recipes for all of you sweet toothers out there.
Sweet Fritters
Savory fritters are something that is consumed every day in most Indian households. There is no need for an occasion for Indians to consume fritters, snacks fritters, rainy day fritters, coffee time fritters. We see people eating it all the time, but most people are new to the concept of sweet fritters as they are not available everywhere and in some places they are, they are mostly expensive.
So here are the easy steps and ingredients for you to make sweet fritters.

Ingredients Required
- Rice Flour
- 2 Bananas
- 3 Cardamom
- ¾ Cup Jaggery
- 2 Tablespoons ghee
- Pieces of coconut
- Dry ginger
- Sesame seeds
- Baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- Oil or ghee to fry
Method Of Preparation:
- First, you need to prep all ingredients- wash your rice thoroughly and soak it for at least one and half hours.
- Drain the soaked rice and take it into a mixer jar. Add banana slices and cardamom and grind finely.
- Now put the pan on the stove and add jaggery, two tablespoons of water, and turn off the stove when the jaggery has melted away and your syrup looks ready to switch on the stove and heat it in medium flame.
- Strain the jaggery syrup and add it to the grinded rice mixture.
- Once your ingredients are blended mix it into a dough.
- In a small pan, add a teaspoon of ghee, coconut flakes, and fry till golden brown.
- Now add these coconut pieces to the flour along with the ghee. Add sesame seeds, soda, and salt and mix well.
- Let your dough rest for a while until the pan heats.
- Add ghee or oil to the pan to fry your fritters once the oil or ghee is ready add batter in pieces and let it fry to simmer.
- Flip the fritters when the other side is golden brown.
And your crispy sweet fritters are ready to eat!
Moong dal Halwa
Moong dal is one of the healthiest lentils and is consumed in the form of kheer, dal, and various other dishes in India. Generally, when halwa is made it is usually done with one vegetable i.e., carrot, and very few people try experimenting with it since they are happy with carrot halwa.
Here is moong dal halwa which is way too delicious than carrot halwa.
Ingredients Required
- Butter
- Moong dal
- Water
- Ghee
- Wheat flour
- Sugar
- Organic food color
- Elichi powder
- Cashew
- Raisins
Method Of Preparation
- Heat a pressure cooker on a stove, add a teaspoon of ghee and fry the Moong dal.
- Then pour two cups of water, close the cooker and let three whistles go off.
- Put the lentils in a mixer jar to cool and grind finely. Put another pan on the stove and add ghee, wheat flour and fry without lumps.
- Once the dough is cooked, add the lentil mixture and cook.
- After five minutes, add sugar and cook on low flame for fifteen minutes.
- Once the mixture is cooked it won’t stick to the pan which is a sign for you to add food coloring and cook on a low flame for another twenty minutes.
- Take a small pot, add a tablespoon of ghee, add cashews and raisins and fry till they are golden brown pour the dry fruit mixture on the halwa and sprinkle elichi powder on it and your halwa is ready to serve.
