Amid pressure from United States President Donald Trump crack down on Hafiz Saeed by the Pakistan government has been seen. The Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and some other terror organizations have been blacklisted.
Trump tweeted on January 1 with accuses to Pakistan for giving safe haven to the terror organizations.
Lately, Trump announced suspension of about $2 billion in security aid to Pakistan as the country failed to take action against terror outfits like the Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani Network.
Now it seems the move of US has worked positively when Pakistan interior ministry announced ban on about 72 such groups including subsidiary of JuD called Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation.
Financial assistance to these banned groups has been blocked too saying those who will be found guilty would be punished.
Few days ago the financial regulatory body of Pakistan banned donation collection by Hafiz Saeed’s organizations.
About a year ago Pakistan had cracked down heavily on the group and placed Saeed under house arrest, but was released later in November following refusal of his confinement by the Lahore high court.
Lately Saeed also announced to be running for the elections in Pakistan.
