North Korea warns US denuclearization efforts would stop 1

Continued sanctions could block the path to denuclearizatin on the Korean peninsula, warned North Korea to United States on Sunday.

Lately Washington said to be imposing sanctions on three senior officials including Choe Ryong Hae of the Kim Jong-un-led government over human rights abuses.

Choe Ryong Hae is considered as right-hand of Kim.

In a released statement the North Korean foreign ministry said the relations of Washington and Pyongyang could return back to the status of last year that was marked with fire exchanges.

According to North Korean expert the US State Department is trying provocation over sanctions on the officials and this could turn to be a greatest miscalculation by Washington and it would block the path to denuclearization permanently.

President Trump and Kim met this June on the sideline of Singapore summit to discuss over several issues including denuclearization. However, little progress could be seen since then and US has continued pushing to maintain sanctions until the promised is fulfilled completely.

Washington said to be seizing US assets of the three officials alleging their role in suppressing freedom of speech.

North Korea is one of the most closed countries in the world and such sanctions may not have much impact on the officials, but it would send a clear message to Washington that North Korea seeks greater acceptance by the US.
