Nirmohi Akhara differs with Vishva Hindu Parishad in terms of model decided for the construction of Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya and is seeking a key position in the trust that will oversee it.
In a landmark verdict the Supreme Court has asked the central government to form a Ram temple trust within three months that will oversee construction of Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
Nirmohi Akhara spokesperson Prabhat Singh said it is one of the oldest litigants in the title suit case of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid and so is looking ahead for a key position in the trust.
He added that a memorandum has been given to Ayodhya district magistrate Anuj Jha seeking an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the purpose.
Speaking to a news channel Singh reminded that even the apex court mentioned in its verdict that Nirmohi Akhara should be given a role in the management of the Ram temple trust.
He said, “We don’t agree with the Ram temple model decided by VHP, which is backed by Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas.”
According to Singh, there are some flaws in the model and could consider it if those are fixed in future.
Asked whether any review petition would be filed in the top court he said there is no such plan as the decision has gone in favor of the Hindus.
Meanwhile, VHP spokesperson Sharad Sharma said the structure has been finalized by them and soon would become a reality.
Chief priest of makeshift Ram temple, Mahant Satyendra Das, said the demand of Nirmohi Akhara is genuine as it has played a significant role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
However, it is yet to see whether Center offers a key position to Nirmohi Akhara in the Ram temple trust.
