Ahead of the Narendra Modi meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal asked the prime minister to tell China to vacate 5,000 km of land in PoK and re-confirm Huawei’s 5G technology will not be allowed in India.
The former Union minister tweeted Modi should show his 56-inch chest to Jinping as China supports Imran Khan on Article 370.
He added, “Or is it: Haathi ke daant khane ke aur dikhane ke aur (case of difference in posturing and action).”
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari criticized the government after China and Pakistan issued a joint statement that they are paying close attention to situation in Kashmir following abrogation of Article 370 from the Indian Constitution on August 5 that provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
He tweeted why the PMO is not reciprocating on their statement by saying that India too is watching Pro-Democracy protests in Hong Kong, violations of human rights in Xinjiang, the South China Sea and continued oppression in Tibet.
Following the joint statement released on Wednesday India responded other countries should not comment on internal matters.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said the position of India is clear that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country.
China opposed unilateral actions and said both India and Pakistan should settle issues and disputes through dialogue with mutual respect.
