Janhvi Kapoor pens emotional note after the completion of the shoot of The Kargil Girl, which is set to be released on March 13, 2020.
The Kargil Girl is a biopic on Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Gunjan Saxena, who had played a pivotal role in 1999 during the Kargil War.
Gunjan Saxena flew into the combat zone to evacuate Indian soldiers who were injured. Along with Lieutenant Srividya Rajan she brought soldiers home and made history for her role. She was later bestowed with Shaurya Chakra.
Taking to Instagram Janhvi Kapoor shared couple of photos from the sets of The Kargil Girl and wrote she is blessed to have been on the project and can’t wait for her fans to watch the movie.
Directed by Sharan Sharma, the other stars featuring in the movie include Pankaj Tripathi, who is playing the role of Gunjan Saxena’s father, and Angad Bedi in the role of her brother.
The movie is mostly shot in Lucknow and the Kargil scenes are shot in Georgia.
In August this year Janhvi Kapoor wished Gunjan Saxena on her birthday and thanked her to teach her true meaning of bravery.
Sharing a photo of herself on Instagram she then wrote, “Happy Birthday Gunjan mam! Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of bravery… You’re an inspiration and a hero…”
Janhvi added that Gunjan’s story has helped her to believe herself.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is produced by Karan Johar. Neena Gupta, Vijay Varma, Rajat Barmecha and Manav Vij will be seen playing pivotal roles too.
