Earlier the word “startup” was foreign in India. Starting up a business meant that you needed to have a million dollars in your bank account. Upper middle class and middle-class people did not even reach around the corner of the word business but now the world has evolved, changed into a better place. A better place where people from every class get to be who they want and do what they want.
Startups were a trend in western countries and when you would google which countries have the highest startups London, or New York, or Hong Kong would pop up.
Yes, unlike India in countries like the United States and the United Kingdom would encourage people to pursue their dream and would emphasize the attitude and skills of the individual rather than education despite the evolving world in India you can still see a major number i.e., almost 31 million of Indian population is unemployed and with the covid-19 pandemic and companies shutting down due to loss despite all the bad news and awful hurricane of the virus last year there were plenty of small businesses and startups that emerged through the barriers and unemployment was one of the reasons why people got creative and indulged themselves in something that they love but this was not the case of every one.

Despite all hurdles, India is emerging as one of the biggest startup hubs. Companies’ underpayment, unemployment is some of the reasons why creative minds are leaning on to creating their own business and so far, it has been successful in most scenarios.
But this one city in India that is not only rising in ranks country-wise but in the world chart. And it is Bangalore, yes, the IT city of the country is now the startup city of the country too.
Bangalore has become an international leader in startups. Ranked 23rd in the ‘Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2021’, it has climbed up three places from the previous year.
These ranks are assigned by a company called ‘Startup Genome’ based on the favorable conditions for the transformation of internationally successful startups.
Apart from Delhi, Mumbai is also ranked 36th. How many startups from these cities have been successful, other conditions are standard for ranks.
It is noteworthy that Bangalore is a leader in the field of funding, connectivity, and knowledge in all these areas.
This year 24 Unicorns were launched in India (in the first eight months of this year) by August 2021. Of these, six unicorns were wiped out in just four days in April.
Bangalore is the fourth largest technology and innovation cluster in the world. More than 400 global research and development (R&D) centers are located here. Apart from Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad are also top startup hubs in the Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems.
Learning Platform Unacademy tops the list of top startup companies domestically. Udaan, a B2B e-commerce platform, and CRED a financial technology startup were ranked second and third, respectively.
LinkedIn has compiled this annual list of startups with 25 companies for 2021. It was created by LinkedIn on the basis of employee growth, employee interest, ownership, and the ability of startups to recruit talent from top companies.
It covers at least seven years of operations, 50 employees, privately owned, and headquartered companies in India.
Unacademy topped the list with a valuation of $ 3.44 billion. Upgrade (4th Rank), Razor Pay (5), Meesho (6), Skyroot Aerospace (7), Boat (8), Urban Company (9), Agnikul Cosmos (10th) are in the top ten list. About 60 percent of the startups are from Bangalore. The pandemic has changed the way people think about life, about career and slowly people are creating opportunities for themselves than looking for one.
Bangalore is undoubtedly becoming the Silicon Valley of India.
