ICC World Cup - Virat Kohli literally ambassador for India: Srikkanth 1

Former Indian cricket captain Kris Srikkanth once said the person who leads the team is one among the billion people.

He added, “You are literally an ambassador for the country. You can’t forget that you are representing a nation. You are not just a cricketer. You are captaining on behalf of India.”

The current incumbent Virat Kohli is a man of statistics. He lives a league of his own and has rewritten the rulebook in cricketing. He has achieved 41 ODI centuries in just 227 games.

Virat is considered as the best one-day batsman of all time and leg-spinner Shane Warne said, “He has made 25 hundreds chasing. No-one has done anywhere near what he has done in one-day cricket right now.”

Founder of the Bharat Army, Indian cricket’s global supporters’ group, earlier described Virat Kohli as “new India.”

Rakesh Patel said, “What I mean by that is an India that goes beyond talent.”

He added the way Virat Kohli prepares and conducts himself is beyond what others have done ever in past. In Indian cricket he has brought a different level of professionalism and standard.

Undoubtedly Virat Kohli is such personality who is full of athletes, who looked so fit and so mentally engaged. He is more than himself as an individual. He takes lot of pride in India and it is not known whether players in past were so vocal.

More to all these, it is true in India that when Virat Kohli has haircut, people follows.

Srikkanth further said that Virat Kohli looks like a fighter and is king of today’s cricket.
