ICC Under-19 World Cup: India Thrashes Pakistan; Seals Place In Final 1

India has sealed a place in the ICC Under-19 World Cup final crunching Pakistan in Christchurch. Shubman Gill’s unbeaten century helped the team reach 272 for 9 and the opponent could manage just 69, slipping to a 203-run loss.

Team India opted to bat first and made a powerful start. The opening wicket of Prithvi Shaw and Manjot Kalra scored 89 in sixteen overs. Accepting pressure, Pakistan failed to grab several opportunities and Kalra’s was deposed twice as well as survived a run out too. Similarly, Shaw survived two run out but failed for the third.

Towards the end India lost wickets in cluster, but Gill kept on picking up scoring rate and reached his century milestone.

Gill became the first player to score ton in ICC Under-19 World Cup between India and Pakistan.

For Pakistan, during their batting, wickets tumbled fast and runs dried away soon. Losing four wickets their run was 28 and by the time they reached 45 runs score the loss of wickets were mounted to seven.

272/9 in 50 overs. (Shubman Gill 102*; Muhammad Musa 4-67) beat Pakistan 69 in 29.3 overs (Ishan Porel 4-17) by 203 runs.
