Gauge

8 rows and 3.5 per inch in garter stitch size.
Size
If you are making the sweater for a newborn or a bay that is 6 or 3 months old, you will need to use the smallest size available:
- Length from back neck 7.5 (8.5, 9.5, 11) inches
- Chest size of the finished garment 14 (16, 18, 20.5) inches
Sweater back
Using a size 9 needle you will have to cast stitches and the number of these stitches depends upon the size that can range from 24, 28, 32, and 36.
