TRAI chairman RS Sharma issued a challenge to hackers by sharing his 12-digit Aadhaar number on Twitter. Hours later a debate on data security was raised and his PAN number as well as alternative phone number were laked on the public domain.

French security expert with nickname Elliot Anderson soon revealed Sharma’s email ID, phone brand, WhatsApp profile pic along with his PAN number and alternative phone number apart from couple of other sensitive data to the public domain.

Sharma had sent at around 1:45 p.mm a reply to one @kingslyj’s post and by 6 p.m. the Aadhaar critic Anderson revealed the details in series of tweets.

He wrote, “People managed to get your personal address, DoB and your alternate phone number. I stop here, I hope you will understand why make (sic) your Aadhaar number public is not a good idea.”

Posting a link to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology circular Anderson added that official @nicmeity circular reveals the alternate phuone number as your secretary’s number.

A picture of Sharma was also shared the Aadhaar critic saying that his wife or daughter might be next to him in the pic.
