The general elections in Pakistan are over and former cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan is to become the new prime minister. Amid such transition India has come up with some valuable suggestions and lately congress leader and former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin said Khan must take bold decisions as he did in his matches.
Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has emerged as the single largest party but running short of the majority mark.
In international cricket matches Azharuddin has always faced Khan’s ferocious bowling while the two represented their respective countries some three decades ago. He said the road ahead for Khan is not bed of roses and he need to set right several issues.
He added, “The decisions he took on the cricket field were very positive, very bold and individualistic decisions as a captain. He should do that only (once he becomes prime minister of his country).”
However, Azhar further added that now it is time to wait and watch as leading a country is different than leading a cricket team.
Asked about Indo-Pak relations the former cricketer said Khan need to ensure animosity to be reduced between.
