Following Rihanna, and others now Farmers Protest a hot topic on America’s “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah”

WASHINGTON: Famous American-African comedian Trevor Noah’s video of him talking in detail about the farmers’ struggle on his Daily Show has gone viral on the Internet.

Farmers are protesting in the capital of Delhi against the federal government’s agricultural laws. No agreement has been reached so far in the negotiations between the Central Government and the farmers in this regard.

The federal government had announced at the last round of talks that it was ready to suspend the struggle for about 18 months. But the farmers’ unions have stated categorically that the struggle will continue until the agricultural laws are completely repealed.

Famous American pop singer, international celebrity- Rihanna was the first to speak out in support of the farmer’s agitation. Followed by many others like Greta Thunberg, Jay Sean, Meena Harris, Mia khalifa, etc.

In this context of it the famous American comedian Trevor Noah’s Daily Show talks in detail about the struggle of the farmers on his show Daily Show.

The video of him talking for about eight minutes about agricultural laws and the farmers’ struggle has now gone viral on websites.

 He starts his show by saying that in the midst of more and more struggles internationally, the biggest struggle in the world is currently taking place in India and we are compelled to talk about it.

He continued the farmers’ struggle by saying, “The government amended many years old agrarian laws. That is when these struggles began. When privatization in the agricultural sector was encouraged, farmers feared they would not get the minimum support price.” None of the explanations given by the government in this regard were shown in his show.

Speaking on the importance of farmers, Trevor Noah said, “This has created a bad situation for farmers. It has clearly taught us one thing last year. We have to give maximum importance to farmers. If not farmers, we would not exist.”

Also featured an interview by a farmer from the Delhi battlefield saying ready to fight for four years against these laws.

Trevor Noah said the morale of struggling farmers is astounding.
