Two explosions rock an Indian Air Force base in Jammu, injuring two people

A twin bomb blast rocked the Air Force operations at Jammu airport. The bomber struck shortly after midnight on Saturday at an Air Force station in a high-security zone.

However, around 1:37 am, the first bomb ran out, and the second around 1:42 am. It seems that two explosions took place during the course of five minutes.

One attack claimed the roof was slightly damaged, and another blast took place in an open space. It was initially reported that two barracks were destroyed, and two were injured in the incident.

Security personnel was alerted as the incident took place in technical areas. NIA and NSG teams entered the field after learning of the incident.

 Forensic teams are scrambling for clues. Terrorists who planted IEDs in drones are suspected to be behind the blasts.

However, the defense PRVO is pleased to announce that there is no damage.

In connection with two strong explosions at Jammu’s Indian Air force airport, the Jammu and Kashmir Police registered an FIR as provided by the Illegal Activities Prevention Act early Sunday.

Colonel Devender Anand claimed the equipment present was not damaged. The investigation is in progress, and more details are expected, he stated.

Cases relating to the plot and commission of terrorist activities have been recorded under Sections 16 and 18 UAPA, sources added.

Defense Secretary Rajnath Singh spoke to Air Marshal HS Arora, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, on the incident. The Defense Minister’s Office reported that Air Marshal Vikram Singh is arriving at Jammu to keep track of the situation.

The Jammu division has been kept on red alert since the incident.

The police also arrested two people from the surrounding region shortly after the explosion. Police sent a bomb disposal team and a team of forensic experts to the site immediately.

Outside a Trikuta Nagar Police Station shopping center, the Jammu and Kashmir police have apprehended a suspected militant. He had an IED confiscated from him.

The IED weighed about 5 kilos, added Police Director General Mukesh Singh.

Sources added that an over-ground worker was also arrested.
