Devendra Fadnavis argues BJP to form stable government in Maharashtra

Devendra Fadnavis: BJP to give stable government

Bharatiya Janata Party and its alliance together will give the people of Maharashtra a stable government, believes Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis amid demand from ally Shiv Sena to share equal power in the state.

Addressing to party workers in Mumbai Fadnavis said formation of Maharashtra government will start after the Diwali festival.

The halfway mark for Maharashtra Assembly government forming is 144 and BJP is much below even though emerging as a single largest party in the state in the October 21 elections. Its tally is reduced to 105 and Shiv Sena managed grabbing 56 seats.

The demand of ally Shiv Sena is to get a written assurance from BJP that the party will honor half-half power sharing deal.

Adding further to the party workers at a Diwali gathering the CM said, “The mandate is a clear majority for BJP, Shiv Sena, RPI, RSP, Shiv Sangram. The mandate will be respected. No one should have any doubt.”

Fadnavis argued the strike rate of BJP in the recent polls was better than that of 2014 when the party contested for 260 seats and won 47 percent seat by getting 28 percent votes in the state.

This year the party contested for 150 seats and won 70 percent with 26 percent votes.

The CM added that BJP’s strike rate was highest compared to any political party and even in the Mumbai city it was highest.

Meanwhile, a segment of BJP members believe the down tally of the party is due to problems in the selection of candidates.
