To this end, the Deccan Queen has decided to run with a new look from August 15, Independence Day. It is learned that the transparent Vistadome coaches that were recently set up for the Deccan Express train are getting a good response from the passengers. With this, the railway department has decided to give another gift to the passengers. Central Railway has also decided to set up transparent Vistadome coaches for the Deccan Queen, which runs between Mumbai and Pune.
To this end, the Deccan Queen train will run with Vistadome coaches instead of regular coaches from August. Vistadome coaches have been set up for the Deccan Express, which used to run regular bogies between Mumbai and Pune, and will be operational from June 26. The roof of these coaches has large windows with mirrors on either side. You can also enjoy the beauty of nature while traveling by train. In particular, there is a ghat section between Karjat-Khandala-Lonavala.
The lush greenery, the many hills, the tunnels, and the waterfalls that cascade down the hills are some of the beauties that can be seen there. As the train travels through these areas, the mesmerizing natural beauty from both directions is mesmerizing. This train has been impressing the passengers since its inception. The train, which was left idle till now, is bringing in good revenue to the railways due to tourists and commuters. With this, the Railways has decided to provide Vista dome coaches for the Deccan Queen train in a similar manner. Train No. 02124 Deccan Queen with Vista doms will leave Pune at 7.15 am on August 15 and reach Mumbai CSMT at 10.25 am.
Train No. 02123 Mumbai CSMT will leave Mumbai at 5.10 pm and reach Pune at 8.25 pm. Bookings for the new Deccan Queen reservation have started on August 8, railway officials said. In particular, the Deccan Queen train with Vistadom coaches has four AC chair cars, nine second class sitting coaches, two other ordinary sitting guards, a brake van, and a pantry car. Only those who have confirmed the ticket will be allowed. For tourists and commuters, thermal screening tests are performed before entering the station. Railway officials made it clear on the occasion that they would be allowed on the railway platform only if covid adhered to the rules.
Deccan Queen train, also known as dakkhan ki Rani named after Pune city. It completed 91 years on June 1, 2021. Deccan Queen first started in the year 1930 on June 1 between Mumbai and Pune. This train is the first deluxe train in India that connects two important cities in the country. In the Initial days, Queen of Deccan was introduced with two rakes of 7 coaches, each which was painted in silver with scarlet mouldings and the other with royal blue with golden lines and the coaches of rakes originally built in England. And the coach bodies were built in the Matunga Workshop of the GIP railway, which is in Mumbai. Later on, coaches in the rake increased to 12, and currently, it has 17 coaches.
In the year 1966, the coaches of the original rakes were replaced by anti telescopic steel bodied integral coaches, which were built by Integral Coach Factory, which is in Perambur in Tamil Nadu State. This made deccan queen more comfortable and convenient for passengers to travel in it.
