Over the 24 hours a cyclone storm over the south-east Arabian Sea would intensify and to move towards South Oman and Yemen Coasts in next four to five days. Named as Luban, the storm to spare Indian states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, but India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the region to face good rains.
Releasing a press statement the IMD added, “Cyclonic Storm Luban moved west-northwestwards with a speed of about 20 kmph in the last 06 hours and lay centred at 5:30 am Monday, over west-central and adjoining southwest Arabian Sea. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards towards South Oman and Yemen Coasts during next 5 days.”
The department further continued that the Indian states may not face heavy rainfall, but Lakshadweep may receive rainfall with heavy falls in next 12 hours.
The Indian states of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh are being closing monitored by the weather department under pre-cyclone watch as it is marked as low-pressure area, over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea.
The met department further continued saying the area may very likely to concentrate into a Depression in next 12 hours and the storm to move northwestwards towards Odisha coast thereafter.
