Coronavirus cases have been exploding in the country and there is no sign of the virus slowing its pace.
The number of cases has been increasing day by day. Active cases are also on the rise. In the wake of this, 47,262 new corona cases have emerged in the last 24 hours.
This is the highest number of cases registered in a single day in a year. With the latest cases, the total number of cases has reached 1,17,34,058. And the number of active cases of 3,68,457.
At the same time, the death toll rose to 1,60,441 with 275 deaths in a single day due to the coronavirus.
The number of those who recovered from the coronavirus has reached 1,12,05,160. This brings the overall recovery rate to 95.49 percent.

The Centre has clarified that 88% of corona deaths in the country are of the peoples whose age is over 45 years.
Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said the death rate among those of this age was 2.85. That is why all those over 45 years of age will be vaccinated from April 1.
In the last 24 hours, 77.44 percent of the cases were reported in just five states- Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat. Of these, Maharashtra had the highest number of cases at 31,855.
On Wednesday Union Health Ministry also said that the coronavirus has been genetically modified twice, is detected in the country.

The virus has undergone a series of genetic mutations and has transferred into a double mutation virus in India, with some of the other strains being released abroad in the past.

So far, 771 types of coronaviruses have been identified, all of which are alarming, and dangerous than the original virus.

10,787 samples are collected nationwide, out of which 736 samples of the UK mutation virus, 34 samples of South African, and one sample of the Brazilian coronavirus were identified.
Analyzing, samples collected from Maharashtra, the number of genetically modified viruses in the 484Q and L452R is higher than it was in December last year.
