Actress Deepika Padukone believes Chhapaak is not a risky project even though she is playing the role of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. She in fact instantly agreed to play the central role when director Meghna Gulzar came to her with the story.

Briefing to the press at the title song launch of the film Deekpika added that they want movie goers to accept the movie as it has been made.

Chhapaak is a real life-inspired film based on Laxmi Agarwal, who too was present alongside Deepika and actor Vikrant Massey at the event.

Fox Star Studios has co-produced Chhapaak with Deepika and Meghna.

With Chhapaak Deepika has taken the first step to film production and so it is special to her. She said, “The entire journey was special. I don’t think I can speak of a particular moment or scene as the closet to my heart.”

The actress added she is most proud to be a part of such a film and she is not thinking about reactions of people after Chaapaak is released as it is completely different aspect.

About the launch song she said it is the soul and thread of Chhapaak as it has binding lyrics narrating the entire story.

Deepika said she is happy Laxmi is present at the event as during the trailer launch earlier media was curious about her.

She said Laxmi had given her opportunity to them to present the story without raising question or doubt.

Deepika wrapped up that Laxmi is proud of Chhapaak and they hope to have done justice to her inspiring and incredible story.
