It was a lucky escape by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday. It was an attempt to assassinate him through explosive-laden drone during a Caracas military parade.
According to official statement by his government the drone injured seven soldiers.
Maduro said, “It was an attack to kill me, they tried to assossinate me today… flying object exploded in front of me.”
Maduro added some of those who were involved in the assassination attempt have been detained and investigation is under way.
Neighboring country is being blamed along with unidentified financiers in the United States by the Venezuelan government. Some of the government officials even are blaming the opposition parties.
Meanwhile, Colombia has denied any such involvement in the assassination attempt and the accusation is baseless.
Television footage showed Maduro looked up disconcertedly following a bang sound while delivering a speech and immediately the National Guard suddenly scatter3ed breaking up ranks of the parade.
Communication Minister Jorge Rodriguez said, “This is an attack against President Nicolas Maduro.”
He added an explosive detonated near to the presidential podium but Maduro was absolutely unharmed.
