Afghanistan has been rocked by bombs for the second day in a row. A car bomb had exploded at the Iraqi police recruiting center at Jalalabad on Wednesday. In the beginning, it was said that two soldiers were killed and ten others were injured in the attack, which targeted a military convoy.
However, no information has been received as to who perpetrated the attack.
Afghan spokesman Attahullah Khoginia responded: The car bombing took place in the area around 10.10 am. A vehicle belonging to a military convoy flew at that time on a road that was normally busy.
The bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of a police station. Attahullah Khoginia concluded by saying We will soon know whose hand is behind this. The injured were rushed to a regional hospital in Jalalabad.
Eight people were killed and at least 14 others were injured in the bombing by Tuesday night.
Afghanistan faces a similar bombing on May 8th, a bomb exploded near the girl’s school, killing at least 30 people – mostly young students aged 11 to 15 years – in the Shiite region of western Kabul. The Taliban denounced the attack and refused any involvement.
And on 29th May at least four civilians were killed and eleven people were injured following an off-road bomb hit on Saturday in Parwan in North Afghanistan. Officials confirmed the bus was carrying university lecturers and students, so they were the obvious victims to the bombers.
The explosion erupted in the provincial capital Charikar at 16:15 as a bus was going from University Albironi in the province of Kapisa to the capital Kabul.
As the United States and NATO are pulling out troops from Afghanistan the violence has been bubbling up.
