Can You Believe That This American Village Lives With No Technology

Which country comes to your mind when you think of technology. Duh! America. The country is the home of apple, amazon, SpaceX, and various other big innovative companies, and would you believe it if I said there is a place in America that is still traveling through horses and donkeys. No, you wouldn’t, you would say that it is an exaggeration.

But it is true, this old American town has heard no name of technology.

Everyone wishes to settle or visit America once in a lifetime. who doesn’t want to walk on the Brooklyn bridge enjoying the evening sunset or get wasted in Los Vegas.

No one would think the leading developed country would have underdeveloped counties or villages but the Grand Canyon Supai Village has nothing the big cities of America as.

The deep valley called the Grand Canyon is very famous in America. The area is also visited by about 55 lakh people every year. 

Nearby the grand canyon is a village called Supai. It is known as the deepest underground village. Because the village is located at a depth of about three thousand feet above the American ground. About 208 Native Americans live here. 

You would be shocked to know how far behind these villagers are. The people here live in a completely different world. They have special rituals. Supai villagers do not speak English but speak a Supai language called the Havasupai language.

There is no train to travel in this village neither a proper road. To reach the village you have no other way than to walk  Or else you have to use one of the oldest transportation systems, donkeys or horses. Traveling this way will lead you to the nearest location since there is no definitive way.

The village is completely away from technology. There are post offices, cafes, churches, lodges, primary schools, grocery stores. The livelihood of the people here is to make a living by selling baskets of bamboo in nearby cities. Legumes and maize are also cultivated in the area. Not only do donkeys and horses transfer people from one place to another but are also required to deliver letters, mail, and fax facilities since technology is non-existence in this place.

You could see a black and white movie reeling inside your head as you read this but this is all true and is happening in this century, year and day.

Thousands of tourists visit this village every year. However, permission from the Havasupai Tribal Council must be obtained before entering the village. Otherwise, there is no entry inside. Their rules must be strictly adhered to even after entering the village. 

The reason for the underdevelopment of this village is unknown in such a high-tech and forward world. While the cities of America are getting every amenity in the book places like Canyon Supai Village have stopped modernizing or let’s say developing for decades.
