The most common problem among people is even though they have maintained a healthy weight their stomach looks bulky. This is the first sign of obesity. If your stomach is blown out like a balloon then you are in trouble.
Measure your stomach inches with the help of tape. Place the tape exactly around your hip and circle it towards the front and measure the inches of your stomach starting from meter one.
Calculate the ratio of these two measurements. That means dividing the waist measurement by the hip measurement. It always comes to less than one (i.e. at zero point decimals). This is because the waist measurement is usually less than the hips measure.
Generally, in women, this measurement value should be less than 0.85. Also, when it comes to men it should come in at less than 0.90. This ratio is called the WHR (Waste by Hip Ratio). If it exceeds the standard measurements mentioned above i.e. if the ratio value is more than 0.86 in women and more than 0.95 in men, keep in mind that you are in a danger zone.

If the measurements are high, it is an indication that they have ‘abdominal obesity. This is also known as central obesity.
People with abdominal obesity or central obesity are more likely to have heart problems/heart attacks. Therefore, for those whose ratio (waist to hip ratio) is higher than the standard values, it is best to reduce the waist or waist circumference with walking or exercises that do not involve much physical exertion.
Curbing central obesity is vital unless you want it to turn into serious health problems.
