YouTube Hits 10 Billion Downloads More Than The World's Population

YouTube has set a new record by becoming the most downloaded app. it has set the bar high for other competitors like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram.

The current world population is 790 crores or 7.9 billion, but YouTube has 1000 crores, i.e., 10 billion downloads under its wings so far. YouTube alone has been downloaded a billion times.

The Android smartphone Play Store currently has 20.89 lakh apps. YouTube topped the list. There have been 300 crore new activations on the Android platform this year. With this, YouTube was able to set a world record. The YouTube app has been downloaded billions of times worldwide.

Play Store, followed by YouTube, stands with 700 million downloads, followed by Facebook and WhatsApp, has been downloaded 600 crore times, Facebook Messenger 500 crore, and Instagram 300 crore times.

Despite being banned in several countries, TikTok has a focal point of over 200 crore downloads and Subway Surfer with over 100 crore downloads. Facebook Lite, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint apps have been downloaded close to two hundred million.

Surprisingly none of the OTT apps topped the list. Netflix stands with 1.5 billion downloads, and the microblogging app twitter also has the same number of downloads on the play store.
