Richard Branson, the multi-billionaire entrepreneur, will make history in just a few hours as he takes off aboard his rocket ship, the Virgin Galactic VSS Unity, becoming the first billionaire to do so.
His team of five space travelers, including Indian-born Sirisha Bandla, will accompany him. Branson’s test flight would be a significant milestone, putting him ahead of Jeff Bezos, who controls the competing space organization Blue Origin. Who is followed by the billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Sirisha Bandla will be the third woman of Indian descent to achieve this feat if the space mission is successful. Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams have previously flown in space.
