Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the wife of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has been tested positive for coronavirus. Mr. Justin Trudeau will now go into isolation as well for at least 14 days to be made clear from the covid-19 symptoms.
As per the Prime Minister’s office’s statement on Thursday, Sophie Grégoire is well and has only mild symptoms of the virus. On Wednesday, she felt some common cold-like symptoms after an event in the UK. The various Health officials are now testing all those individuals that she had been in any physical contact with.
The statement of the office said, “The Prime Minister is in good health with no symptoms. As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days,”
It added that the prime minister does not have any symptoms as yet and will not be tested and will continue with his chores as a PM, and he plans to address the people of Canada.
Gregoire Trudeau has been getting lots of support from her loved ones; she thanked and addressed them all. Although I’m experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon,” she said. “Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns.”
Canada has already seen 147 confirmed cases of the covid-19. The virus has been declared a global pandemic due to the massive no. of people being infected all over the world.
