United States President Donald Trump will be in India on Monday for his two-day visit and ahead of it he said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has an advantage on Facebook for being number two in terms of followers as he represents 1.5 billion Indians.
In his commencement address on Thursday in Las Vegas’ Hope for Prisoners Graduation Ceremony he added, “And Prime Minister Modi is number two on Facebook, number two. Think of that. You know who number one is? Trump…”
Officially India is a country with 1.3 billion people. On Thursday Modi had 44 million followers on Facebook while Trump had just 27 million.
US has a population of 325 million. Trump said Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg lately congratulated him for being number on on the social platform.
Amid laughter from the crowd Trump further added that he had congratulated Modi for being number one saying he has advantage as India has a huge population compared to the US.
This is not the first time Trump claimed to be number one on Facebook. Talking to CNBC TV in January he said the same.
Apart from this, Trump also claimed he has been told by Modi that about 10 million people will turn up in his welcome along a 22-km-long road in Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, the Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner said Thursday about one lakh people could be there on the long road to greet the president.
Earlier this week Trump claimed the number would be seven million.
