Prime Minister Narendra Modi is just little behind than United States President Donald Trump in the most followed world leaders on Twitter.
Trump has a follower base of 64 million while @narendramodi just crossed 50 million mark on the microblogging site.
Modi is currently top most followed Indian leaders in Twitter.
Forer US President Barack Obama is still seated on the first sport. He has followers of more than 187 million on the platform.
Other Indian leaders are not even close to Modi on Twitter.
Modi created his Twitter account in 2009 while being chief minister of Gujarat. He assumed the prime minister office in 2014 and since then his popularity grew overwhelmingly.
Modi is famous across fans for his oratory skills and he regularly tweets on everything including his speeches and places he is visiting.
On Facebook the prime minister has a follower base of 44 million and about 25 million people follow him on Instagram.
In 2018 an international survey ranked the prime minister among the top three leaders of the world.
Gallup International’s annual survey placed Modi at number three in the list of top leaders of the world. He was behind German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The top leaders including Russian President Vladimir Putin, former British Prime Minister Theresa May, Chinese premier Xi Jinping and Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu were behind Modi in the list.
