Indian skipper Virat Kohli is learned to be attending the selection meeting at the BCCI headquarters on Sunday. He will be featured in all the three formats in the West Indies tour.
India will be playing three ODIs, three T20Is and two Tests against West Indies. The tour is to start on August 3.
Earlier it was speculated Virat Kohli would miss the West Indies tour due to workload management. He would be rested ahead of the long domestic season that begins in September.
It was also rumored Rohit Sharma could lead the team in the absence of Virat Kohli.
Meanwhile, it is learned the selection committee would be working on restructuring the middle-order and stabilizing the number four spot.
All-rounder Kedar Jadhav and experienced Dinesh Karthik failed to perform good in the World Cup and it is learned from unofficial sources the two may not again be included in the team.
Dhawan had thumb fracture and had to be ruled out of the World Cup. He is now deemed fit and so Rohit may be the opener in West Indies tour.
The regulars who could be retained includes K L Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Pant did justice as wicket-keeper in the World Cup and it is yet to see whether he gets the same position in the August tour.
Wriddiman Saha is again fit and also being considered as the best in the team. It is to keep a watch what selectors do with him.
