A Reddit user first spotted the unique cricket-friendly taxi that was streaming live scores of Saturday’s match between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab.
Reddit users who love cricket hailed the taxi saying it is really doing gods work. One user wrote, “Everyone need to thank this guy for saving mobile Data.”
The Reddit post went viral and ICC too shared photo of the taxi on its official Instagram and Twitter accounts with a note reading, “When cricket is life.”
IPL is also prime attraction for advertisers and marketers because of enormous visibility of the tournament and popularity across demographics. Last year the Star TV network, which owns the IPL’s digital rights, reveals had 603 viewers including 202 million streaming on its Hotstar mobile app.
Hotstar is fast gaining popularity in India and other countries. The platform set a global sports streaming record with peak viewership of 10.7 million.
This IPL season Hotstar is targeting a viewership of 300 million and recent data reveals in first three days of the tournament the platform garnered 219 million viewers.
