No Money to Run Pakistan: Imran Khan 1

Pakistan has no money to run the country, said newly sworn-in prime minister Imran Khan in Islamabad while addressing to bureaucrats putting the blame on previous governments citing they didn’t created wealth but created loss-making projects.

The chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) the younger generation population in the country is high and they looking for jobs. It is time to bring change and the government should strive to get out of the debt trap.

Talking further to the bureaucrats the PM said people must own the government too while the government assumes responsibility of the people. He added, “Maybe God has created the crisis because he wants us to change”.

Khan said the National Accountability Bureau has been directed not to humiliate any official during probe. He assured he would be protecting the bureaucrats from any undue political pressure.

About the salary of bureaucrats the PM said, “The bureaucracy attracted the best talent, and there was no temptation to steal and be corrupt because they were compensated well.”

He added, “I had a class mate at Aitchison who always topped in our class. I met him some 20 years later; and asked him if his kids were in Aitchison. And he said he couldn’t afford the fee, even though he worked in the civil services. So I recognize the pressures on you.”
