Army chief General Bipin Rawat said Monday terror camp in Balakot has been reactivated and about 500 terrorists are waiting to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir.
He said about five terror launch pads are now ready to push terrorists in huge number, double that in the last three years, in India.
Indian Air Force destroyed terror camps in Pakistan’s Balakot earlier this year in February. A dozen fighters went deep inside and bombed the terror compound.
Bipin Rawat was briefing to media during the inauguration of Young Leaders Training Wing at Officers Training Academy in Chennai.
He said India will keep Pakistan guessing and troops will not hesitate to go beyond strikes in the region. The military is ready to respond in any range and at any level.
To prevent infiltration from Pakistan more troops have been deployed along the western border, said Bipin Rawat.
Talking about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir he said there is no clampdown and such facade is created by the terrorists.
Bipin Rawat added that over 100 truckloads of apples are coming out of Brick kilns, Srinagar.
He confirmed phone lines in the Valley are working normal.
Sources said information on terror camp revival in Balakot came couple of days ago and the threat this time, compared to previous years’ festival season, is far more serious.
